Final Team Gala of Year - a close run thing
Posted by Andy on the 1st of November, 2009
The winter flu bug left the RASCALS with only 20 fit swimmers and it is a testament to the remaining swimmers that the gala was so close all the way to the end.
The club welcomes Laura Bates to the gala team, taking on the mantle of senior girl swimmer. With all the galas we have competed in recently it is not surprising that there were only eight personal bests on the day.
There were lots of close finishes and at the half way stage Rossington were in second place but the number of races being swam by each swimmer told when it came to the final relays; in the end the RASCALS came in a fourth only six points behind our local rivals Edlington.
The final result was: Knottingley 135, Pocklington 115, Edlington 111, Rossington 105
