Committee Who's Who

With a large number of new swimmers joining the club in the past year we felt it was time to introduce the people who volunteer their time and energy to keep the club running smoothly.


The club holds an AGM at the start of every year where parents and guardians are welcome to put their name forward to join the committee with new blood comes new ideas.



Paul Griffiths
Chairperson

Joined the club in 1999 and was the Club Treasurer from 2002 to 2007, his daugther, Jessica, is heavily involved in the club as a competitive swimmer and Peer Tutor. He was Vice-Chair from 2007 to 2009 and was elected Chair in 2009. Paul is also a qualified timekeeper. As Chairperson he is responsible for the smooth running of committee meetings and the organisation of the yearly club galas.

Sandra Eales
Vice-Chairperson & Club Administrator

Joined the club in 2000 and has been involved in a number of areas in this time and has been on the committee since 2006. Sandra's daughter, Chelsea, is heavily involved in the club as a competitive swimmer. Sandra is one of the first people you will meet at the club as she helps organise the new members and collects fees.

Ian Gordon
Level 2 Teacher, Lifeguard & Club Secretary

Joined the club in 1995 and has been the Club Secretary since 2002. Ian is responsible for the liasion with the other clubs and the Doncaster Metropolitan ASA with relation to sound running of the club. He also produces a great deal of the club's literature and posters that you will see on the club's noticeboard. Ian is a qualified Teacher and holds a National Pool Lifeguard certificate. Ian is also a qualified Swimming Judge, Timekeeper and Starter.

Julie Walker
Club Treasurer

Joined the club in 2005, Julie took over the role of club Treasurer in 2009. Julie's two children Lauren and Aaron are both in A squad and are heavily involved in all competitive swimming events. Julie is responsible for the club’s accounts; ensuring that the club gets the best deal on pool hire from the council, the payment for training and the co-ordinating any equipment expenditure.

Membership Secretary & Level 1 Teacher

Clive joined the club in 2003 and was previously a committee member and Competition Secretary. Clive took on the role of Membership Secretary in 2009. He has two sons in A squad, Jacob and Joshua, who both compete in team and individual galas, his third son Joseph is in C squad. Clive is responsible for the enrolment of new members, the liaison with the ASA and the reporting to the committee on membership. Clive is a qualified level one teacher

Jill Greenhalgh
Competition Secretary & Lifeguard

Jill joined the club in 2003 and was previously a committee member and Welfare Officer. Jill took on the role of Vice-Chair in 2009. She has two sons in A squad, Jacob and Joshua, who both compete in team and individual galas, her third son Joseph is in C squad. As Vice-Chair she is jointly responsible for the smooth running of committee meetings and the organisation of the yearly club galas.

Vicky Norman
Chief Coach

Joined the club in 2005 as Chief Coach and is responsible for the organisation and delivery of the club's coaching sessions. Vicky is also responsible for the close liaison with the Chief Coach of DARTES to ensure that coaching strategies are closely aligned. Vicky is a qualified Coach, Teacher and holds a National Pool Lifeguard certificate.

Club Welfare Officer & Committee Member

Josie has been involved with the club since 1999 and was chairperson from 2002 to 2008 before becoming a committee member again. One of her sons, Andrew swims for the club in galas, is the Boys Team Captain as well as the Club’s webmaster.

Committee Member

Joined the club 2005 and has been on the committee since 2007. Her granddaughters Farrah & Sasha are both A squad swimmers and swim in team and individual galas.

Heather Newby
Level 2 Teacher

Heather has been involved with the club since 1998 and Vice-chairperson since 2002 and was elected Competition Secretary in 2007. Her son, Chris, is heavily involved in the club as a competitive swimmer and is a level one teacher. Heather is responsible for the organisation of the galas in which Rossington competes; this includes the liaison with other clubs, the arranging of officials and the creation of team sheets. Heather is a qualified level two teacher and is also a qualified Swimming Timekeeper.

Committee Member

Joined the club in 2005 and has been on the committee since 2007. Her daughter Becky is an A squad swimmer and her sons Ben and Jacob are in B squad; they all compete in team and individual galas

Joined the club 2000 and has been on the committee since 2007. Her daughter Shannon & son Jordan both swim competitively in team and individual galas.

Level 2 Teacher, Lifeguard & Committee Member

Joined the club in 1999 and has been on the committee since 2005. Phil's son Lewis is heavily involved in the club as a competitive swimmer and level one teacher. Phil is a qualified level two teacher and is working towards his level three qualification.

Joined the club 2007 and has been on the committee since 2009. His daughter Eva is a B squad swimmer and competes in team and individual galas. His son, Liam, is working his way through C squad.
