Rossington Amateur Swimming Club runs two annual galas every year; one for the A and B squad and one for our C squad.
A & B Squad Gala
The A & B Squad galas are run at the same time with all swimmers entered for all of the events listed below:
- Back Crawl
- Front Crawl
- Individual Medley
The distances swam for each event depends on the age of the swimmer:
Under 11’s swim 25m (1 length) for the four main strokes and 4 x 25m for the Individual Medley.
11 and 12 year old swimmers swim 50m (2 lengths) for the four main strokes and 4 x 25m for the Individual Medley.
13 to open age swimmers swim 100m (4 lengths) for the four main strokes and 4 x 25m for the Individual Medley.
Swimmers are placed in heats with swimmers of their own ability to ensure that each swimmer achieves their best time possible. At the end of the gala the fastest swimmer in their age group will win their age group event.
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are presented to the swimmers at the Presentation Night, usually the first Saturday in December. At this event their will also be presentations for age group champion as well as a number of special awards not necessarily related to the swimmer’s times.
